Tahoe!

Over the summer, I went to Tahoe with my friends Sara, Mari, Krista, and Jamie. One of the days, we decide to go rafting down the Truckee River. I was going with Sara and Jamie so we had to get a bigger raft since there was more of us.  We just got to the river and we already had a problem blowing up the rafts. More than half of the rafts that Mr. Shambaugh brought were either torn or just broken and old so we were left with the blow up kayak and this old looking raft which was for Sara, Jamie and I. We already had a feeling that because us three were going together that something was going to go wrong since it always does but we wanted to have some fun so we just went with the old raft. For the beginning of our "adventure", we were doing a pretty good job! As we started to go under bridges and other obstacles, there would be a small opening and a big opening. Of course, our stupid raft had to go through the little opening causing us to get stuck. Mr. Shambaugh had to pull to the side, get out, and come all the way back to help us. There were two more bridges and when we went under both, our raft just had to wrap around the poles of the bridge. Towards the end of the river when we started to hit the rapids, us three were terrified! They were still pretty small but got stronger as we went along. There was a part of the rapids where there were big logs and rocks. We were rafting down, and we get stuck on this HUGE rock and it tears a hole through the bottom of our raft causing our boat to start to sink. My foot went through the bottom of the boat, in between the rock and my friend sara. It got squished and hurt like a mofo. Haha. We were pretty much stranded so Sara thinks we should just ditch the raft and climb to the side of the river into this person's backyard. To get there you had to jump into the water, and grap this wired fence and then pull yourself up the side of this wall. I go first and almost got pulled down the river because the current was so strong but then caught myself between some rocks in the water. Sara jumps second and is fine but hurts herself on the wire. Jamie jumps and totally forgets to grab anything so I had to grab her to keep her from going down the river. I saved her life fersheeezzyy (: Hahah, This was the most intense rafting trips of my life and it is definitely something that I will never ever forget.

Good job with the life-saving. I wouldn't be able to take it if we lost Jamie.
